      Starting IT!!!

Hi darlings!!!
Have big news to share with you this week...
I am becoming a freelancer!!!

I'm reeeeeaaaaallyyy excited about this new project, have this week full of things to do and to think.

I had the BIG LUCK when I found a BIG client and it felt like I had to start on my own, it was THE TIME.

I'll invest for myself and give myself 10 months.
In this 10 months I have to be able to find new clients and work work work A LOT and make this dream possible. XD

As you'll guess I'm really excited and have hundreds of ideas every minute!!

I had a meeting with my new consultant (a great friend of mine, he makes these docs-things-that-scared-me at the beginning feel more easy. He is the one who will take care of the docs and taxes and bla bla bla)

-Think about my rates, my work shedule (I'm sure it'll be more than 8hrs)
-New account? New phone?
-Buy now a domain or wait a month or two?
-Design and order business cards (I love her blog)
-How do I start looking for new clients?
-I started preparing my new office (Poppin is sooo cute, I can personalize and now 20% off)

and last but not least

HOW SHOULD I NAME MY NEW BUSINESS?!

This weekend (if possible) I would like to read more about becoming a freelancer, do you know any article? Recommended books?

I'll post about my business and keep you updated, I would like also to post about benefits and drawbacks and more!!! WISH ME LUCK!!!

NEW FAMILY MEMBER

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am glad to present you our new family member... ROCKY!!!
He is my sister's new puppy!!! Since she is living in other city, we don't see each other so often BUT she's sending us thousands of photos everyday!!!

As we don't have children (yet) in our family, we are just buying all the itsy bitsy teenie weenie dog stuff we see!!!

MAKING FRIENDS

 Hi!!!
Some time ago I read this article in the New York Times.
I'm twentysomething, almost 30, and I'm starting to understand how difficult is making new friends. I am not talking about knowing other people, I mean REAL FRIENDS, those one that we know/hope will be supporting/with/holding our hands forever.

When was the last time you made a REAL NEW FRIEND? How?
For me it was while living in Brussels, I moved to a new house and my new flatmate turned out to be FANTASTIC. We got really really close, call each other sister, had A LOT of fun (and cryings) together. Now we are living in different countries and miss each other so much, sometimes we don't speak for weeks, but I don't care, every time I see her it seems like we saw each other the day before.

Tips for making new friend?
Through work? Dance lessons? Gym?
I think lessons can be a good option, as you choose something you like, like Cooking Lessons, at least you will have THIS in common, that you all like food... uh?!

In the meantime, since I am back in my city after some years of world traveling, I contacted some old school and college friends AND I'M HAVING A LOT OF FUN!!!
Maybe I don't need new friends, but renovate with the old ones.

Hace tiempo leí este artículo en el New York Times. Para las que no sabéis inglés, es un artículo muy interesante sobre hacer nuevos amigos a partir de los 30.
Yo aún no he cumplido los 30 y empiezo a entender lo difícil que es hacer amigos nuevos. Y no me refiero a conocer a gente nueva, quiero decri AMIGOS DE VERDAD, de esos que crees/esperas que estén a tu lado y te apoyen siempre; a los que llamas en una "CRISIS"
(utilizo CRISIS en un sentido muuuy amplio, desde que no sabes que zapatos ponerte, pasando por el capullo del finde que no te ha llamado aún, hasta que has tenido una pesadilla rarísima de un perro que habla...)

¿Cuándo fue la última vez que hiciste UN NUEVO AMIGO DE VERDAD? ¿Cómo?
En mi caso fue mientras vivía en Bruselas, me mudé a una nueva casa y mi nueva compañera resultó ser FANTÁSTICA. Nos hicimos verdaderas amigas, nos llamamos hermanas, lo pasamos GENIAL juntas, riendo y llorando, nos apoyamos siempre. Ahora vivimos en países diferentes y nos echamos de menos, a veces no hablamos en semanas pero cada vez que nos volvemos a ver parece q no ha pasado ni una hora desde la última vez.

¿Algún truco para hacer nuevos amigos? ¿A través del trabajo?
¿Clases de baile? ¿Gym?
Las clases pueden ser una buena opción, si por ejemplo te gusta cocinar y vas a clases de cocina, pues ya tenéis eso en común!!

Últimamente, desde que he vuelto a mi ciudad después de varios años dando vueltas, he contactado con viejos amigos del colegio y la universidad y ha sido GENIAL!!!
Quizá no necesito amigos nuevos, quizá tengo que actualizarme con los viejos.

AUTUMN

Hi!!! In this post I want t show you my favourite it pieces for this autumn. I was always faithful to my personal style, but I LOVE to add THAT PIECE that refresh the look and makes it more trendy.
I'm dying for real autumn to come, can't wait to wear my jeans and sweaters and beloved sneakers... Anyway, in Spain is still too hot right now, I'll wait a couple of weeks (here is quite funny, you can still see tourists with flipflops and swimsuits and women that already took out their leather shoes...)

Me apetecía haceros un mix de las tendencias y las piezas que más me gustan para este otoño!!! ¿Qué pensáis? Acabo de leer este post de DevilWearsZara, ¿qué opináis vosotras? ¿os parece cada vez más difícil encontrar ropa más básica?
Tengo muchas ganas de que empiece a refrescar y sacar mis vaqueros y mis suéters y mis sneakers!!! Supongo que aún tendré que esperar un par de semanas...

 

LOVE this second Capsule Collection, the leo print is my favourite one, but since I have a very similar pair (that I showed you here) I will go for the military print this time!!!

La segunda colección de TheBlondeSalad para Superga, mi preferida es la de leopardo, aunque como ya os enseñé en este post, tengo unas muy parecidas de DKNY; así que me compraré las de estampado militar (las que imitan piel de cocodrilo me parecen chulísimas, pero sinceramente, no me veo con esa plataforma tan grande!!!)

  

One more year we'll find this electric blue, that goes well with every haircolor, it adds a touch to a total black look, very punk!

¡Seguimos un año más con el azul eléctrico! Aunque no tan fuerte como el año pasado, es un color muy cómodo pq sienta igual de bien a rubias y a morenas, la tendencia es darle un punto de color a un look totalmente negro y un poco punk!!

 

I really like this piece!!! I went crazy on a wedding I had this summer, I wanted to wear this princess pink skirt I bought in Paris some time ago, but it looked too pinky and "happy ever after Disney princess", sooo I add some transparencies and my leather vest (and a pair of Prada heels), here you can see how it came out!!!

La tendencia del chaleco de cuero me encanta, le da un toque motero a cualquier modelito, yo me adelanté en junio y lo llevé a una boda! Mi falda era larga y rosa, muy bonita pero demasiado cursi, así que decidí darle un toque macarra con transparencias y el chaleco negro!!!

 

Square shirts are soooo 90's!!! I'm sure more than one of you could fine one of this somewhere in you closet (at your parents house?)

Otra tendencia muy de los 90 son las camisas de cuadros, LO MÁS si la llevas anudada a la cintura... Para las que tenemos un buen culo (q no supimos apreciar en nuestra adolescencia) esta tendencia NO DISIMULA!!! Queda mejor en las chicas delgadas o que no tienen mucha cadera, pero oye, que cada una haga lo que le dé la gana y con lo que esté más cómoda!!

 

Lyngerie-Style Dresses are also very VickyBeckamInTheSpiceGirls, could be a good option, but take care, it can seem you lost your pet and just went out of home in pijama looking for it...

Y los vestiditos lenceros, muy noventero-VickyBeckam-enlasSpiceGirls, también habrá que tener cuidado con esta, no se vayan a creer que se nos ha escapado el gato y hemos saldo en camisón a buscarlo...

FINALLY, the new and second book written by Alma Obregón is MINE!!!
Alma Obregón is a Spanish blogger and great cooker, you can take a look to her web here, where you will find soooo many sweet and wonderful recipes (most of them of cupcakes, but also cakes and cookies and suggestions and tricks!!!)

To celebrate her new book is out (first one was all about cupcakes, this new one about cakes!) I'm cooking today my favourite recipe ever, published in her blog some time ago.

For YOU, people that don't speak a word of Spanish XD, I highly recommend Betty Crocker Great Book of Cupcakes, with more than 150 recipes and lovely and colourful photos!!!

SO, here you have the best recipe EVER and so easy to do!!! Alma Obregon took this recipe from the book  "The Cookie Dough Lover's Cookbook" written by Lindsay Landis, I translated her recipe into English! ;)

¡Por fin! El último libro de Alma Obregón ES MIOOO!!!
Las más golosas conoceréis a Alma Obregón cuyo Blog "Objetivo: Cupcake Perfecto" ha sido un exitazo, va por el segundo libro de recetas y ha abierto tienda en Madrid!

En fin, para celebrar la salida de su segundo libro (el primero era de cupcakes, en el nuevo se ha lanzado de cabeza a hacer tartas) voy a hacer hoy la que a mi me parece la mejor receta del mundo mundial, que colgó hace tiempo en su blog y que podéis ver aquí y que para las que tengan algo (o mucho) de intolerancia al huevo como yo, va a ser todo un descubrimiento!!! :D

Mmmmmmmm...

Bolas de masa de cookies (sin huevo!)
Adaptada de "The Cookie Dough Lover's Cookbook", de Lindsay Landis

• 115g de mantequilla a temperatura ambiente
• 55g azúcar blanco
• 100g azúcar moreno (Light Brown Sugar a poder ser)
• 2 cucharadas de leche
• 1/2 cucharadita de extracto de vainilla
• 135g de harina
• 1/2 cucharadita de sal
• 90g de chips de chocolate

• Candy melts o una tableta de chocolate

Batimos la mantequilla con los dos tipos de azúcar hasta que la mezcla se aclare, unos 3 minutos. Incorporamos la leche y la vainilla. Después, añadimos la harina y la sal y batimos a velocidad baja hasta que la mezcla sea homogénea. Incorporamos los chips de chocolate. Hacemos una bola, la cubrimos con film y enfriamos unos 30 minutos en la nevera.

Pasado ese tiempo, hacemos bolitas de masa de unos 2'5 cms de diámetro y las colocamos sobre bandejas de horno. Congelamos 15 minutos. 

Mientras tanto, derretimos el chocolate o los candy melts (Si queda muy gordo, lo haremos más líquido con un poco de Crisco, manteca de cacao o aceite vegetal). Bañamos nuestras bolas en el chocolate y dejamos secar sobre la bandeja. Decoramos con ralladura o granitos de chocolate.

Yields 18-20 bites

Ingredients:

• 1 stick (or 8 tablespoons) unsalted softened butter
• 1/2 cup white sugar
• 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
• 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips (you can also use regular)
• Candy melts

Directions:

1. In a mixing bowl add the white and brown sugar and the butter. Beat the mixture on high until smooth and creamy, about 3 minutes. Add in the vanilla, salt, chocolate chips and the flour, making sure the ingredients are well combined.
2. . Place the balls on a platter and leave them for 30 minutes in the refrigerator. With a cookie scoop or spoon, scoop out the dough and begin rolling into bite-sized balls trying to keep each the same size. Freeze the for 15 min.
3. Meanwhile melt the chocolate, the let the balls take a bath in it ;) and let them dry on a platter. DONE!!!

NEW OBSSESION: SUE WONG DRESSES

Hi, beauties!!!
I have to admit I LOVE WEDDING TV SHOWS!!! I love to see the evolution of the process, the expectations of the bride, the dresses, the decorations, all the decisions about the ceremony, the place, the food, the shoes, make-up, family...
For me the best part is to see the groom crying the first time he sees the bride!!!! Soooo lovely!!!
For people who know me doesn't make much sense, since I am not a very romantic girl (and getting married is not in my plans in the very next future) BUT,  I'm praying for one of my best friends getting married soon so I can help and organize and live such a wonderful moment with the people I love XD

In Spain weddings used to be very VERY traditional, but since civil unions are getting more popular and same-sex marriage has been legal since 2005 (FINALLY!!!), now we can find very different types of celebrations and this means... SO MANY DIFFERENT OPTIONS AND DRESSES TO WEAR!!

NOW, this comes because watching one episode of David Tutera TV Show on Divinity I rediscovered Sue Wong!!! Yes, I wrote REdiscovered because I had seen some of her creations in magazines and red carpets, but when I saw HER (yes HER) surrounded by so many beautiful dresses... I could not think about anything else for days!!!

Lo admito, ME ENCANTAN LOS PROGRAMAS DE BODAS!!! Me encanta ver como evoluciona la idea, lo que espera la novia, los vestidos, la decoración, las decisiones sobre la ceremonia, el banquete, los zapatos, maquillaje, la familia...
Pero lo que más me gusta son los novios que rompen a llorar en el altar!!
Me parecen taaaaaaan monos!!!!
La gente que me conoce alucinará, ya que no soy una romanticona (y casarme no está en mis planes a corto plazo) PERO admito que estoy deseando que se case ya alguna de mis mejores amigas para organizar y decidir y PASARLO GENIAL!!!

Todo esto viene porque estaba viendo un capítulo del programa de David Tutera en Divinity y redescubrí a Sue Wong!!! Y digo redescubrir porque ya habia visto antes vestidos suyos en revistas y alfombras rojas, pero cuando la ví a ella (que me pareció una señora alucinante) rodeada de tantos vestidos suyos, no he podido pensar en otra cosa durante días!!!

Hola guapas y guapos!! A muchos os encantó el último post de decoración, así que estoy convencida de que este también os encantará!!!

Mi amigo volvió a sorprenderme la semana pasada... Iba de camino al curro cuando al pasar por una obra vió que tiraban estos dos maletines al contenedor... Me lo puedo imaginar saltando detrás (traje y corbata incluídos) para rescatarlos... jijiji

Se los llevó a casa, un poco de cola por aquí, un fregoteo por allá... Voilà!!
